ACCESS ALUMNI'S SOCIETY OF PAKISTAN

In a small town I just existed, with no hopes and dreams. It was a normal life that I was living. I was always in a struggle to know my skills better. Access made this possible for me. Access brought a tremendous change in my perspectives, my living actually it changed my whole life. I was able to speak in front of big crowd. I remember when I got selected for ASI 2010, amongst 50 students I was t he only Hindu to participate; I had some fears because I never had faced the people. I was afraid how people will react and talk to me. But I wasn’t discriminated. I was welcomed and people were actually keen to talk to me and know our traditions. I delivered speech on the closing ceremony it was the first time in my life I was standing in front of more than 100 people. In the same year I was selected for the KL-YES program it was also because of Access. This cultural exchange program groomed me a lot. It gave me the purpose of living and dreams in my life. Access was a turning point of my life. Access paved the way for me to rediscover myself through International exposure. I was selected to go on a Cultural Immersion Program to Turkey. This exchanged opened a wonderful world of cultural diversity and harmony for me. Access brought me different opportunities that enabled me to think for the society through Community Services. Access program altogether helped me to boost up my confidence and polished my skills. The access program made it possible for me to widen my horizons and discover who I am. Access was totally a new world for me. It was a life changing event which enhanced my confidence and engaged me in different interactive activities. Access made me to feel for the people and do some community work to save and serve pakistan. I always wanted to see my country flourishing and booming and access bring the sense in me that how i can take part in all this process of economic developme nt and prosperity of my country. Access enabled me to use my skills and thoughts in a perfect way.   Alhamdulillah, I was selected as an access organizer by   US Consulate General Lahore   as an exchange program ambassador of the   Pakistan-U.S. Alumni Network . Access program transformed my thoughts by engaging me in different types of activities on variety of Topics. So, this is how Access brought learning opportunities for me. I learned how to develop smart goals & the most fantastic thing was the speaking confidence. With the grace of almighty, recently I won the best speaker award from Education Department of Gilgit Baltistan. Moreover, I got delightful opportunity (APAI) two weeks residential training program at islamabad the most beautiful and charming city of Pakistan and went through interactive and innovative activities. Access for me is a turning point of Life ! Access is a life changing thing for those who are willing to do something in their lives. They say, “Life is all complete with money”, but let me tell you it's not all about money. I belong to a middle class family having a defined and static budget which if moved would result in very high problems. The surrounding and the environment plays very important role in nourishment of a child. And unfortunately, I'm raised in an area where education has never been the primary focus for most o f the parents.   From the beginning of my education, I was interested in O and A levels education system but due to financial problems of my family I could not go to O and A levels. But this doesn't mean I didn't study. Fortunately I got admission at Korangi Academy- a school for children belonging to underprivileged areas. I have to admit that Access was the life changing opportunity in my life. Access enthused me and provided a platform to express myself at bigger level. It gave me exposure to a global language which ultimately helped me to be an intellectual and such person with greater ability to understand and study the world. After those remarkable 2 years there are major personality changes in me and I am totally different and see myself as more confident, intellectual, social and better citizen. Joined Access when I was in matriculation, in such age where either you are groomed or you lose yourself. I had the gut to learn different things, but a platform wasn't available for me. So access played the role of that platform.  In the journey of almost 2 years, I came to know a lot of things, became social and learnt how to survive where people are gathered. I had been taught English which has  been helping me till now. I spent a very good time there, great people, brilliant students and the wonderful teachers. Access helped me able to improve my point of thinking, style and personality. It is only because of my exchange program experience that I have been the part of many national and some International events. It has provided me a large canvas to paint my life. Access has brought tremendous changes in my life.I have adopted so many things from access program.I gained confidence talent, tool of English language, leadership skills & how to serve community. I got golden opportunity from Access program to participate in 12 Days Extensive "Pakis tan Access Leadership Institute" called (PALI) held from December 21,2015 to January 1, 2016 at Ramada Hotel Islamabad Pakistan this program was hosted by U.S. Embassy Islamabad. I joined Access Islamabad back in 2010. The best thing about access were the teachers i had .Today if I'm a bit able to speak English is because of them. The first day was a horrible one for me as i wasn't much aware of what was going on around me . I used to think i would never be able to communicate with anyone in English but English Access Microscholarship program made my dream come true. The   most amazing days of life were in Margalla Hotel when i was selected for ASI (Access Summer Institute) a summer camp. I learned a lot of things there and it was a great experience to be there with the students selected from all over Pakistan's Access centers. Access gave me confidence, the confidence that I needed in all walks of life. I would just say Access program was the most amazing thing in my life and whatever i learned there is still helping me out in lots of fields. A ccess have been a support system for me always. I still remember those days when i used to hide behind the people because of the low confidence and grooming in my personality.  When i engaged myself with access, that was the turning point actually. I started doing community service on small platforms because of small resources. First Organization which i joined as a member was PUAN ( Pakistan-U.S.  Alumni Network ) which not only groomed me but also provided me the best platforms. I was awarded by the Small Grant project of Summer Camp by USEFP. I made myself involved with some of my local teams. I started working as a youth activist after attending International Youth Activism Conference. I started giving sessions to empower the girls of my area because my community is a bit conservative. They donot let their girls to educate themselves. I started a series to educate the girls of Government schools which was named as LEEIG (let enhance education in girls). Slowly and gradual

I am so glad to be a part of Pakistan US Alumni Network GB Chapter and Access Program Khaplu, In this Access Program, I've learnt many thing which I've never learnt before. This exchange program transformed me from ordinary student to a Social Activist. This program inspired me and made passionate about my community. Through this Access program I examined major changes in myself & they are confidence level, Leadership and communication skills. Now, i can communicate too much confidently,After my Access Program. Access ! Well Access was a miracle in My Life ! I wonder sometimes that How I joined Access Community, became part of it And How I stepped into a life that I never Imagined ! Access helped me Empower myself with communication skills.Since my graduation from the program, I have been associated with the Pakistan US Alumni Network,Where I am Constantly putting my skills to use. I served as planning Team member at PUAN International Youth Activism Conference, 2016 and Social media Team member at PUAN International Climate Change Conference. I was also part of Pakistan's First Ever Women International Film Festival (WIFF) this year as a Social Media Team Member.I Believe Social Media is a agent for change which could bring many positive changes in our Society.
